Daniel Shimp wanted more power in his 2004 Volkswagen Jetta Mk4 so he turbocharged the 2.0 L 8v inline-four. After the engine developed some issues he decided to replace it with a VR6. He tried to give away the turbocharged inline-four but no one wanted it. So it was about to be recycled when a friend suggested he install into their 1998 Honda Civic. The Civic was in pretty bad shape with a blown motor and his friend had no intention of repairing it. Daniel took the free Civic and built the project in six months. The 2.0 L AEG inline-four makes about 150-180 horsepower to the wheels on 7-8 psi of boost from a Garrett T28 turbocharger taken off a Nissan RB26 inline-six. The car also runs Jetta Mk4 wiring and electrical system, fuel tank, radiator, and motor mounts.

…and ‘Harlekin’ visuals apparently. Volkswagen did sell Polos in this colourful setup in the mid-90s (I mean, when else would anyone have bought them like this? ^^)
