The 1988 Mazda RX-7 is powered by a stock Volkswagen VR6 with a Precision 6266 turbocharger running off a Megasquirt EFI system. The transmission is a three-speed TH400 automatic. While out at I29 Dragway it made four eighth-mile passes resulting in times of 7.39, 7.21, 6.94, and finally the best time of 6.79 at 107.7 mph.
