Why did he do such a unique swap? The Corvette was purchased with severe damage in the rear from a collision. He rebuilt the back half of the chassis with a four-link suspension and Ford 9&#8243; rear end. Ryan ran the Corvette with a 396 ci big-block V8 that produced 550 horsepower. However someone challenged him to install a diesel engine and after bouncing the idea around he decided to go for it.<\/p>\n<p><a
