Werner Appelgryn’s VW Amarok<\/a> originally came with a turbocharged 2.0 L TDI inline-four, manual transmission, and 4WD drivetrain. Werner wanted more power so he swapped a 3.0 L M57 turbodiesel inline-six from a BMW 330d. These typically produce 228 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque. Cars.co.za<\/a> reports Werner’s M57 is making 382 hp and 925 Nm (682 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels thanks to a few upgrades and a hybrid turbocharger. Werner also swapped the manual transmission for a BMW automatic transmission. This change converted the truck to rear-wheel drive. Werner is considering converting it back to 4WD using a BMW X5 transmission. <\/p>\n
