During that time it was powered by a 5.7 L LT1 V8. Eventually it made its way to Chris Taylor for a powertrain upgrade. He along with Jason Henry swapped a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercuryracing.com\/engines\/automotive.html\">7.0 L SB4 V8<\/a> from Mercury Marine using custom mounts. These unique motors feature a LS7 V8 shortblock with Mercury Racing&#8217;s custom DOHC heads. The naturally aspirated SB4 V8 produces 750 hp at 7500 rpm on pump fuel. Chris also installed a built 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission controlled by a PCM TCM2800.
