PAC Performance<\/a> received this Mazda RX-3 with a turbocharged MX-5 inline-four. They were tasked with transforming the coupe and swapping to rotary power. <\/p>\n

Under the hood PAC Performance installed one of their “FD 13BT Street<\/a>” motors. The turbocharged two-rotor features new housings, DBW throttle body, Garrett G42 turbocharger, and Turbosmart 50 mm ProGate wastegate. It is fed E85 fuel by three Walbro in-tank pumps through 2000 cc injectors. The combo is good for 500+ hp to the wheels on a Motec M130 ECU. <\/p>\n

Behind the motor is a C4 three-speed automatic transmission. The driver selects gears via paddle shifters thanks to a PCS transmission controller. In the back of the car is a shortened Ford 9-inch rear end with 35-spline axles. <\/p>\n

The RX-3’s suspension received BC adjustable coilovers in front and new leaf springs with KYB shocks in back. A set of color-matched OM Simmons wheels (19×7, 19×10) bolt over Wilwood four-piston disc brakes on each corner. <\/p>\n

On the inside PAC Performance installed a custom leather interior with Recaro Sportster CS seats in front and a custom rear bench seat. A Momo Fighter steering wheel flanked by paddle shifters extends in front of a Motec C1212 digital display. <\/p>\n
