In 2019 the restoring company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theslshop.com\">SLShop<\/a> sent the convertible to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electricclassiccars.co.uk\">Electric Classic Cars<\/a> (ECC) for an electric conversion. There the company installed a HPEVS AC34 dual motor in the engine bay paired to a Mazda MX-5 five-speed manual transmission. A Tesla 53 kWh battery pack gives the car 150 mile range. The battery pack is split with 50% in front and 50% in back. ECC also installed electric power steering and electric vacuum pump.
