Troy Gudgel and his company BBT Fabrications<\/a> in Mahomet, Illinois invested many hours building Brad Sather’s 1969 Pontiac Firebird. In the engine bay is a twin-turbo 482 ci Pontiac V8 built by Butler Performance<\/a> in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee sitting six inches further back. The all-aluminum motor features an IA-II block, forged internals, Edelbrock heads, two Precision 6870 turbochargers, and Holley Dominator ECU. The motor is capable of 1,400 hp and tuned by Carma Performance<\/a>. Behind the motor is a Rockland RS T56 six-speed manual transmission with straight-cut 1-2 gears and Moser 9-inch rear end with a 3.0 ratio. The car sits on a Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis with Wildwood six-piston disc brakes behind EVOD Industries wheels (19×9.5, 19×12).
