Alexander Hedt<\/a> built his Volkswagen Golf Mk2 to drag race. In the engine bay is a turbocharged 3.0 L VR6 built by STT Turbotechnik<\/a>. It features custom JE forged pistons, Pauter forged rods, AME camshaft, and block girdle. The motor produces 1040 hp (764 kW) and 1220 Nm (899 lb-ft) of torque. Power is sent to four Hoosier slicks through a Quaife sequential transmission and 4Motion drivetrain. Alexander’s best quarter-mile is 8.797 sec. He recently upgraded to a Precision 8085 Next Gen turbocharger capable of 1,600 hp.<\/p>\n
