Eugene planned on using a turbocharged 1.3 L 13B two-rotor from a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mazda_RX-7#Series_6_(1992\u20131995)\">Series 6<\/a> RX-7. However he chose a turbocharged 2.0 L 20B three-rotor featuring a Holset HX55 turbocharger and FuelTech FT600 ECU. Boost is turned down to protect the factory RX-8 six-speed manual transmission. So the three-rotor currently makes 400 kW (536 hp) but will eventually make 800-900 kW (1072-1206 hp) when swapped to a DCT seven-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"
