Boreham Motorworks<\/a> is making a limited run (150) of Ford Escort “Mk1 RS” cars. Each car is officially licensed by Ford and comes with a 2-year\/20K mile warranty. Boreham Motorworks is offering two engine and transmission choices. The default is a 1.8 L twin-cam inline-four producing 182 hp (133 kW) paired with a “Ford Bullet” four-speed manual transmission with straight-cut gearset. The other option is a 2.1 L inline-four capable of 300 hp (220 kW) at 10,000 rpm. It features billet crank, forged steel rods, advanced fuel injection, and custom titanium exhaust. After that comes a dog-leg<\/a> five-speed manual transmission and a lightweight aluminum \/ titanium full-floating rear end with an ATB limited-slip differential. Boreham Motorworks designed the Mk1 RS to be 800 kg (1764 lb) with a 55\/45 weight distribution. Thanks in part to carbon fiber hood, trunk lid, and interior parts. The car rides on a MacPherson front suspension with four-piston calipers and 260×25 mm vented rotors. In the rear are two-piston calipers with 264×11 mm solid rotors. The four-spoke wheels (15×7, 15×8) wear 205\/50 tires in front and 225\/50 tires in rear. Hemmings<\/a> reports the Escort Mk1 RS will start at \u00a3295,000 ($360,094) and begin production in 3rd-quarter of 2025.<\/p>\n
