After that Jack swapped to a 350 ci Chevy V8 and TH350 automatic transmission and the car was used for drag racing. The Chevette sat for 30 years before being purchased by Womack Family Racing in 2012. It is now powered by a 355 ci V8 making 447 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. The motor features JE pistons, Dart aluminum heads, Comp Cams hydraulic roller camshaft, Edelbrock intake manifold, S&#038;S 750 cfm carburetor, and Hooker headers. A 2004R four-speed automatic transmission with a TCI 376600 lock-up kit transmits power to a Ford 8.8-inch rear end with a Trac-Lok differential and 3.73 ratio. The Chevette rides on Strange Engineering adjustable shocks, 4-wheel disc brakes, and American Racing VN215 Classic Torque Thrust II wheels (14&#215;6, 15&#215;8). The Chevette will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mecum.com\/lots\/1141123\/1976-chevrolet-chevette\/\">auctioned at Mecum<\/a> on April 3rd. <\/p>\n<p><a
