BMW built an E46 M3<\/a> wagon prototype, but never went into production. Ronald Norat and his company Renner<\/a> decided to build their own. The company started with a 2002 E46 Touring and swapped most of the powertrain, suspension, body, and electronics from a 2005 E46 M3. Under the factory M3 aluminum hood is a 3.2 L S54B32<\/a> inline-six producing an estimated 400 hp. The motor features carbon fiber intake, Dinan ignition coils, European exhaust manifold, and CSL tune. Behind the motor is the E46 M3 six-speed manual transmission and rear differential. Renner upgraded the front suspension with KW B3 coilovers and 135i six-piston calipers with CSL E46 M3 rotors. The rear suspension received KW shocks and E46 M3 brakes. On the body they welded on the M3 rear flares and modified the rear bumper and doors. The front received the M3 aluminum hood, CSL bumper, and custom carbon fiber fenders.
