In the previous season the car was powered by a turbocharged 4.4 L BMW <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/BMW_M62\">M62B44<\/a> V8. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DriftMastersGP\/posts\/marco-zakouril-announced-some-big-changes-for-his-bmw-m2-in-that-are-bound-to-ca\/1018943190268159\/\">Drift Masters reported<\/a> Marco had reliability and weight issues with the M62 motor. So for the 2025 season Marco swapped to a turbocharged 2.0 L VW EA888 inline-four built by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/rtmg_performance\/\">RTMG Performance<\/a>. They built the TFSI inline-four capable of 750-800+ hp (551-588+ kW). Behind the motor is a DMA Racing Gears sequential transmission.
