The team started by reinforcing the top of the block with Moroso engine block filler and converting to hydraulic roller lifters. Then they installed a forged crankshaft, Molnar forged rods, custom DSS Racing pistons, and custom-ground billet camshaft. On top they added a Promax Performance CNC ported head with Comp valve springs and ARP studs. With a 9.2:1 compression ratio, the motor made 300 hp and 334 lb-ft of torque naturally aspirated. For the turbo dyno session, the team installed a Stainless Header exhaust manifold, two Hypergate 45 mm wastegates, and Turbonetics Sylvia 7268 turbocharger. On 12 psi (0.8 bar) of boost, the motor made 555 hp (408 kW) and 623 lb-ft (844 Nm) of torque. Then on 16.5 psi (1.1 bar) of boost, it made 601 hp (442 kW) and 702 lb-ft (951 Nm) of torque.
