Ferrari built the test mule called &#8220;M6&#8221; between February-April 2012 for development of the LaFerrari. The listing states the test mule started as a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ferrari_458\">Ferrari 458 Italia<\/a> but with no indication if it had the factory 4.5 L F136 F V8 and seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle or if it was a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Body_in_white\">body in white<\/a> (BIW). Either way Ferrari modified the aluminum chassis to fit a 6.3 L <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ferrari_F140_engine\">F140<\/a> EB V12 which was used in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ferrari_FF\">Ferrari FF<\/a>. The LaFerrari would be built with the 6.3 L F140 FE V12. RM Sotheby&#8217;s says the M6 test mule also was used in development of the LaFerrari suspension, steering, and brakes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/engineswapdepot.com\/?attachment_id=140335\"
