They swapped the small-block V8 for a 1.9 L VW TDI (ALH) turbodiesel inline-four. The diesel motor features 250 lb injectors, head studs, GTC1549 turbocharger with electronic actuator, and front-mounted intercooler. The conversion retained the factory fuel pump in the 34 gallon tank. Behind the motor is a <a href=\"https:\/\/tdconversions.com\/collections\/volkswagen-kits\/tdi+ford\">TD Conversions adapter plate<\/a> which allows it to use the factory SM465 4-speed manual transmission and rear end.
