The Mazda minivan still retains the factory FWD powertrain consisting of a MZR inline-four and five-speed manual transmission. However behind the driver sits a 5.3 L LM7 V8 connected to a 4L60 four-speed automatic transaxle from a C5 Corvette. The RWD powertrain is supported by a modified C5 Corvette subframe. Both engines work and have their own cooling and fuel systems.
