Mearns Hire<\/a> is an Australian earthmoving company known for their Caterpillar \u201cD12R\u201d or “Superdozer”. The company creates the unique dozer for ploughing tough dirt and cutting roots. Each Superdozer starts with a Caterpillar D11N<\/a> or D11R powered by a 34.5 L 3508 V8<\/a> making 770-915 hp. Mearns Hire removes the factory V8 and stretches the chassis. In the increased engine bay space they swap a 51.8 L 3512 V12<\/a> producing 1250 hp (919 kW). These motors are usually found in huge 785 mining trucks<\/a>. They retain the D11 transmission but use the mining truck’s torque converter and lockup clutch system. On top of the cabin they mount a large cooler for hydraulic and transmission fluid. <\/p>\n
