Earlier this year we shared<\/a> Black Smoke Racing’s<\/a> unique drift machine created using a Mercedes SL-Class R230<\/a> with a AMG GT-R body kit. The team recently visited the dyno and made 891 hp (655 kW) and 1074 Nm (792 lb-ft) of torque to hubs. That power was created by a compound-turbocharged 3.2 L OM648<\/a> diesel inline-six. The motor features a G40-900 turbocharger, G47-1850 turbocharger, custom water-to-air intercooler with two cores, and custom air-to-air intercooler with three cores. Behind the diesel motor is a G-force dogbox and Winters quick-change rear end. Watch the motor produce a lot of power and smoke in the video below.<\/p>\n
