I try my best to cover as many swaps as I can but there are plenty that slip through. For example this 1969 Camaro made its debut at SEMA 2013 and I never heard of it until now. It was built by American V8 Classics and Customs in Alpharetta, Georgia and features two LS7 engines.<\/p>\n

The engines are two custom 427 ci LS7 V8s built by Grimes Machine Shop<\/a>. Each engine is built with a custom Callies crank, forged JE Pistons, custom COMP Cam, and custom Fluidamp balancers. The engines are connected by a custom coupler built by Grimes Machine Shop that allows small differences in movement between the engines to be mitigated while still being strong enough to transfer the power.<\/p>\n

Each engine produces 600 horsepower and 595 lb-ft of torque for a total of 1,200 horsepower and 1,190 lb-ft of torque. To cool that amount of power each engine dumps into one radiator up front which is cooled by six electric fans. An electric pump is used to run the coolant through the back engine. The engine up front runs a 6.5 quart oil pan while the back one runs a 7.0 qt oil pan. The Camaro runs a Level VII 4L60E automatic transmission built by RPM Transmissions and a modified C6 Z06 Corvette differential and rear IRS suspension.<\/p>\n
