To get the engine to fit the car was converted to rack and pinion steering rack from a 1988 Mustang and the crossmember was removed for the GTO oil pan. The transmission tunnel had to widened as well. To get the headers to fit on the steering side they had to wrap around the steering shaft. The GT500 supercharger was mated to the engine using a prototype Magna Charger manifold that is no longer sold. The Mercedes subframe was modified to accept a Ford 8.8 IRS rear from a Mark VIII and the builder used the factory Lincoln mount to hold it.
