For almost it&#8217;s entire production (expect for the last few years) it came with a 600cc two-cylinder two-stroke engine. Because of the high volume sold (over 3 million) and relatively cheap cost, there are many with engine swaps. This particular race version was born a third-generation <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Trabant_601\">Trabant 601 S<\/a>. It now has a rear mid-engine 2.2 L Honda H22 engine that produces around 270 horsepower. Since the car only weighs 866 kg (1,909 lb), it can go 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"
