The 1965 Chevrolet Impala he built for Don and Elma Voth has won Foose his fourth Ridler Award. Chip decided to call this project &#8220;Imposter&#8221; because of its Corvette underpinnings. The project was started in 2008 after the Voths wanted an Impala to commemorate the 1965 Impala they drove on their honeymoon. Chip purchased a new 2009 Corvette and preceded to tear the entire body off so that the 1965 Impala body could be grafted on. The Impala body was shortened 14 inches in total with about eight inches taken from the roof and six inches from the rear quarter panels. Even though the body was shortened the Corvette frame was stretched eight inches in the middle to fit. They body modifications were designed by Foose to give the car a muscle car feel. To ensure the performance matched the looks, a Magnuson supercharger was placed on top of the LS3 V8. The car impressed enough judges to win both the Ridler and Alexander Awards.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"
