Many people know Mike Whiddett<\/a>‘s incredible “Madbul” RX-7. We have following since its debut in 2008. What we didn’t realize is we have never featured it. That ends today with Mike debuting the latest version. <\/p>\n

Although most of the newest version’s changes are cosmetic, the third generation Mazda RX-7 revolves around a four-rotor 26B built by Pulse Performance Race Engineering<\/a>. These are the same guys who built the six-rotor monster<\/a> we have featured before powering a Mazda RX-4.<\/p>\n

Mike’s engine features a custom PPRE centre and end plates, custom chrome-moly crank, lightened and balanced high-compression RX-8 13B-MSP Renesis rotors, and Mazda 3mm seals. All this is good for 538 whp and a rev limit at 10,750 rpm. After receiving factory sponsorship from Mazda, Mike intends on building another motor with “major gains.” Does this mean a turbocharged engine? We will have to wait and see.<\/p>\n
