Soon after that he found his very own 1978 Volvo 242DL. His first engine swap was a 383 ci Chevy V8. It provided the Volvo with enough power for Joachim to enjoy but he eventually grew tired of the headaches an older V8 can cause. The engine was bored to increase displacement to 8.6L. The pistons were switched to Ross low-compression forged pistons with Ksport H-section rods. But the Volvo usually runs 9.5 psi (0.65 bar) which is good for 911 horsepower (679 kW) and 1,032 ft-lb (1,400 Nm) of torque.
