The racers used the engines because it was a lot cheaper than trying to fix the factory ones. Although Chevy was the top choice for engine swaps, racers also used Ford, Buick, Chrysler, and even Offenhauser. Randy also ownes a 1959 Ferrari PF coupe with a Chevy V8 swap.
