They decided against using the factory motor or another VW power plant. Instead they went with a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/General_Motors_LS-based_small-block_engine#LM7\">LM7 V8<\/a> from a Chevy Avalanche. They added a 88 mm turbocharger and a front sump oil pan. Behind the motor sits a GS5-39DZ five-speed manual transmission from a BMW E39 530D installed using a <a href=\"https:\/\/pmcmotorsport-shop.com\/eng_m_Swap-Solutions-Adapter-Kits_Full-Adapter-Kits_Chevrolet-LS-LSA-LSX-264.html\">PMC Motorsport adapter<\/a> and flywheel. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a BMW E39 530D driveshaft and rear differential. The team also installed a set of racing seats, roll cage, fuel cell, and coilovers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/engineswapdepot.com\/?attachment_id=80841\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-80841\"><img
