VTG in Warszawa, Poland specializes in building AWD vehicles for drag racing. For the past several months they have been working on a custom Mitsubishi Evolution VIII monster powered by a turbocharged 5.3 L LSx V8. The engine produces 811 horsepower to all four wheels on low boost with means there is still plenty left. They recently took the Evo to the strip and made a 9.217 sec quarter-mile at 144.2 mph (232.117 kph). You can expect the times to lower as they continue to refine the car. For more photos and stats on the Evo please visit our previous article.

I hope they’ll soon build LSX powered GTR R35. 😛
Someone is going to do eventually do it. There have been forum posts talking about doing it but I think all of them didn’t happen. Then there was a youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sij-ChYKXCs supposedly showing one but I couldn’t find anymore info and that video is easy to fake a V8 sound.
There is a good reason why LSX GTR wasn’t done, stock engine has a lot of potential, I mean guys like AMS get 2000 hp from them, so going through hell of a lot custom work isn’t worth it.
I agree the engine is amazing but people still blow them up. I figured someone would have done it by now just for the publicity. I say it is still going to happen.
