Chevy Apache truck with a Tesla Model S drive unit

Casey Loter converted this Chevy Apache truck to electric at his company Electric 51 Speed Shop in Salt Lake City, Utah. Casey removed the factory inline-six and drivetrain for a electric motor and battery pack from a Tesla Model S. In the back of the truck is a Tesla drive unit directed by a EV Controls controller. The motor is powered by a 85 kWh battery pack managed by an Orion BMS2. Casey estimates the electric conversion added about 400-500 pounds.   1. This is the kind of vehicle to convert to electric. Everyone knows it will not be driven very much so you do not have look for a charging station often like these new cars. Good luck to him.
