When this 1957 Fiat Nuova 500 (VIN #110058604) rolled out of the factory it was powered by an air-cooled 479 cc two-cylinder that produced 13 horsepower. One very creative builder from Colorado took the small Fiat and turned into a monster. The car sits on a custom tube chassis and is powered by a Subaru 2.5 L EJ25 flat-four which is literally hanging off the back. The engine features a Turbonetics T3/T4 turbocharger, Bosch 500 injectors and is fed by two Pierburg fuel pumps. Running off a EMS Stinger ECU and Greddy Profec B-spec II boost controller the engine produces 300 horsepower to the rear wheels. This makes for a 2,300% increase in power over the factory engine. Power goes the rear wheels through a Porsche G50 transaxle with a Kennedy Engineered Products adapter. All told the project cost $14,700 in parts and untold hours of work.

  1. I’ve seen this car on the highway and can attest that it’s apocalyptically fast. I couldn’t keep up with it in my Dodge Durango, but I still managed to get a couple of blurry photos of it in action.
