Wrapping a Chevy Lumina Minivan around a Pontiac G6

Husband and Wife racing team Shawnee Creek Racing will be bringing a very unique project to the Grassroots Motorsports $2016 Challenge. After visiting the $2015 Challenge and getting hooked they decided to return to compete in the Soccer Mom class with a 1996 Chevy Lumina APV minivan. The original plan was to swap a 3.6 L V6 and six-speed manual transmission from a 2006-2007 Pontiac G6 GTP. But the plan eventually changed to chopping off the G6 roof and body panels and dropping the minivan body over it. Although it would require much more work it would improve performance because it would keep the IRS, ABS, traction control and stability control. It will be exciting to see how this project does in Gainesville.

  1. I love the goofy ideas these people from grassroots motorsports events come up with. This moon van is the answer to the question no one ever asked and I kinda love it. It’ll be neat to see how it does.

      1. Thone are some of my favorites as well. The $20xx challenge they throw each year is always full of crazy gems. I’ve been wanting to do it for a few years now.
