Troy Seyfer of Seyfer Specialties built this 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 at their company in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. We shared this car earlier this year when it was at Barrett-Jackson. The custom orange hatchback is for sale on Bring a Trailer in Sarasota, Florida.
The engine bay surrounds a 5.0 L Coyote V8 (2nd gen) with a 3.0 L Whipple supercharger. Gonzalez MotorSport tuned the motor and it made 611 hp (449 kW) and 514 lb-ft (696 Nm) of torque.
Behind the supercharged V8 is a Tremec T45 five-speed manual transmission. A custom driveshaft sends power to a Ford 8.8-inch rear end with a 3.73 ratio and Eaton Truetrac limited-slip differential.
The Focus rides on a Watts Link rear suspension and stops thanks to disc brakes front and rear. The exterior features a RS-style body and custom steel hood repainted orange. A set of 19-inch wheels hold Bridgestone Potenza RE71 tires (245/40, 265/40).
Behind the steering wheel is a Dakota Digital gauge cluster. In front of those are two Recaro seats with G-Force harnesses surrounded by a roll cage. In the back of hatch is a custom fuel cell.
