Chip Foose Design is finishing their “Madam X” project for owners Wes and Vivian Rydell. The projects is based on a 1935 concept drawing for a 1937 Cadillac Sixty Special by Art Ross. Chip and company started with a 1939 Cadillac Sixty Special sedan and converted it to a two-door design with a removable hard top.
Powering the custom will be a 6.2 L LT1 V8 backed with a 8L90E eight-speed automatic transmission from a Cadillac Escalade. Finishing out the drivetrain is a rear end from a Camaro ZL1. The car will ride on from and rear independent suspensions from a C6 Corvette.
Chip will unveil the car at the BASF boost (#20367) in the main hall of SEMA 2016 on November 1st at 12:30 pm.

I’ve never been a real big Chip Foose fan, but I do like his stuff that has a gangster look to it. The first photo in the article has that feel, and looks like a great bit of great body work was involved. Taking a four-door to t two door is a herculean feat that often doesn’t end well. I’m thinking this one has ended very well..
I am sure it will be a great looking car when completed. I love those long sweeping fender lines.
