Toyota will unveil their “Turbo Trail Cruiser” at the 2025 SEMA Show in their booth. The project starts with a 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 originally powered by an inline-six. However Toyota Motorsports Garage swapped a twin-turbo 3.4 L V35A-FTS V6 from a third-generation Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX. The motor features an aluminum block with a 85.5 mm bore, 100 mm stroke, and D-4ST direct fuel injection. It produces 389 hp (290 kW) and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque. Toyota was able to fit the power plant in the engine bay without modifying the firewall using a custom mounts, oil pan, and exhaust. They retained the factory Land Cruiser H55F five-speed manual transmission and drivetrain using a created a custom adapter plate. Toyota also installed a 1.5-inch suspension lift, reversed the front shackles, and added 35-inch tires.
