This is Steve Kildey’s special Holden Colorado he built at his company Killa Conversions & Performance in Clontarf, Queensland. Steve’s Colorado is powered by a 6.2 L LSA V8 that makes 339 kW (455 horsepower) to the rear wheels while keeping the AWD system. If you would like your own Killarado, prices start at $26K for a used LS3, $33K for a new LS3, and $40K for the LSA. The swap takes four weeks to complete.

Wait a sec, I thought stock LSA made 556-580 hp, not 455…
AWD
Even at 15% driveline loss (which seems to be the usual fudge factor for RWD), you’d only be looking at 470 whp. The numbers seem about right for a lossier AWD setup, and possible differences in dyno calibration.
Used LS3 for 26K?
$26K Australian is about $20K American.
It took me less than 5 seconds to find brand new LS3’s for less than 15K (US). Used I’ve seen in the 5-10K range.
I hope those prices are installed package prices, other wise, ouch.

I think that might be too much weight on the front end of a mid size truck. Those things weigh 835 pounds DRY. Plus all the accessories, pulleys, and whatnot. 900+ easy.
They come standard with a hand grenade 4cyl diesel, just like all the other tiny little gutless 4/5/6cyl diesel engines being forced upon us in Australia. About time someone bit the bullet to show the Aussie car companies that not all Australians want gutless, unreliable tiny diesel junk. Sure a 6.0L diesel, but a 2.8L engine in an over 2tonne vehicle towing around 3tonnes. What a joke!
An LS engine in one of these would be perfect!

Is this the same as the Chevrolet Colorado? It looks different, but that might just be plastic bodywork.

Yes the Colorado comes with different style packages for the Australian and US. Different suspension and front end clip …. oh and the badging…still all being made out of Thailand.
Not true, the Oz Colorado is the ‘global’ version. The US version is made in the US with a 6″ longer chassis. Only a handful of parts are interchangeable.
What would cost be for a 454lsx swap in a 04 Colorado Z71 LS 2wd crew cab currently running stock 3.5
