1971 Chevy Truck with a Detroit Diesel V6

This 1971 Chevy truck could have come from the factory with an inline-six or a V8. However the current owner’s Father replaced the factory engine with a 5.2 L Detroit Diesel 6v-53 V6. The 1,483 lb motor produces 185 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through a NV3500 five-speed manual transmission from a diesel Blazer to a rear end with 3.83 gears. Make sure to check out the owner’s other vehicle, a Ford Bronco II with a Mercedes OM617.

What a screamer. Looks like a 5spd trans as he is starting in 2nd. Wonder what the top speed is as the 6v53 will turn up to a roaring 2800 rpm. With it being a 2 stroke sounds like its turning 2x. Also would be interested in the mpg. Non turbo they put out 216hp. Would like to know the injector size and if it was dynode. I think a 353 would be enough and half the weight.
