Motor Werks Racing debuted another their 14th project from their Heritage Tribute Collection. The Porsche 924 GTP Rothman’s Tribute starts with a 1987 Porsche 944 chassis featuring polycarbonate windows, 924 GTP one-piece nose, removable GTP composite quarter flares, and GTP rear spoiler. The 2,050 lb race car is powered by a turbocharged 1.8 L Audi inline-four making 450 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. The engine was built with IE forged rods, AEB big valve head, dual valve springs, titanium retainers, and BorgWarner 6758 EFR turbocharger. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Porsche 987 transmission with custom axles. You can hear the 1.8T scream on the dyno or from inside the Jägermeister 924.

still think the 1.8t finds surprisingly little use in RWD swaps. Its cheap, no drift tax like SR20s/2JZs/RBs, available all around the world, can pack a punch, VW lego allows for all sort of combinations, race pedigree and parts available (Formula 3, WRC by a bit of a leap)
Its a great engine.
