1974 MGB GT with a Roush Coyote V8

This 1974 MGB GT called “Double Agent” was built by Joe Holyfield and RM Motorsports in Wixom, Michigan. Sticking out of the hood is eight 55 mm throttle bodies connected to a 5.0 L IR Coyote V8 crate engine built by Roush Performance that makes 500 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. The engine features forged steel crank, H-beam steel rods, and forged aluminum pistons. Power goes through a MT82 six-speed manual transmission with a modified Barton shifter to a Ford 8.8-inch rear end. Joe designed the powertrain layout as a stressed member of the custom chassis. The engine is solid mounted to the frame with the firewall acting like a mid-plate. The transmission bolts through the firewall and further back to the crossmember. The car rides on a Fast Cars Inc front suspension with tubular control arms and QA1 coilovers. In back you find a four-link with a watts link. The car weighs 2,300 lb and has a perfect 50/50 weight bias.

  2. I have been an MG fan for as long as I can remember(1963) and this is, without a doubt, the MOST beautiful sounding, well sorted, beautifully built, GT I have ever seen. Thank you for creating such an example.
