This Datsun 510 was built by Jared Snetsinger over two years at Lucky’s Speed Shop in Fremont, California. The 510 is powered by a 5.7 L LS6 V8 that makes 440 horsepower to the wheels through a Tremec TKO600 5-speed transmission and Ford 9-inch rear end with a Detroit TrueTrac LSD with 3.55 gears. It rides on a Eibach springs with Koni coilovers in front and custom 4-link rear suspension with Eibach springs with QA1 coilovers. Behind the Volk wheels are Corvette ZO6 calipers on Wilwood slotted rotors with 6-piston in front and 4-piston in back.

  1. I was going to consider this car for purchase, I was very excited until my suspicion about how the rear wheels fit the body which didn’t look like how they normally fit a 510 we’re coming firmed with the horrible tragedy of this car having a live rear axel.

There is no question this car could have easily been designed around a irs suspension from countless oem donors that would have paid homage to the original engineering of the car. 10 steps forward and 12 steps back with this build. It’s a net loss for me.

May have just as well put a 510 body on a fox body mustang. No disrespect to those mustangs, they are great in their own right.

  2. ^Completely agree with Greg on this. Live rear in a car that was made special in no small part because of its IRS…weird choice to make. But I guess they just wanted a drag car. They should have just put a slush box in it as a twist the knife sort of move
