1988 Monte Carlo SS with a LS376/525

A LS376/525 is a LS3 crate engine offered by GM with an ASA camshaft installed to increase power to 525 horsepower and 489 lb-ft torque. This Monte Carlo just so happens to have one along with a T-56 Super Magnum six-speed transmission. It was built by GM Performance to show off its crate engine tech and made its debut at this years Power Tour. This car is so immaculate I assume it was a complete frame-off restoration. Just look at that engine bay.

  1. Hi, I just got my ls3 installed into my 88 MC and having a little trouble figuring out how to make the AC compressor work. I was told that the AC connector from the LS3 harness will control the idle and that the original AC wire will control the power and ground. Do I have to intergrade both wires to make it work? Can somebody please help me out? would really appreciated.
