We do not come across many projects using a Northstar V8 anymore. So it was very exciting when we discovered this pro-touring Chevelle while doing research for another article. Under the hood sits a 4.6 L DOHC V8 (1993) with two Scwitzer turbochargers. The owner estimates the combo is good for 600 horsepower and 585 lb-ft of torque. Behind the motor sits a T56 six-speed manual transmission and Jaguar XJS with 3.54 gears.

The Northstar bellhousing pattern is very similar to the GM metric pattern. Phoenix Transmissions make a TH-700R4 for the Northstar. You could also try to obtain a RWD Northstar V8 from a Cadillac SRX and XLR.
