Holley released their newest Gen 3 Hemi V8 swap parts for the 1972-1993 Dodge D100 and D150 trucks. Parts include engine and transmission mounts, headers, full exhaust, and flexplate. The swap allows for A727, A518 (46RH/46RE), A904 (30RH), and A500 (40RH/42RH/40RE/42RE/44RE) transmissions. Listen as Holley explains the parts on their 1981 Dodge D150 with a 5.7 L Hemi V8.

Will this kit work on a 1978 ramcharger 4×4 and be able to keep the 4×4 if I get a full motor trans and transfer case ?
Their website says “1972-1993 Dodge D100/D150 2WD Truck, 1974-1993 Ramcharger 2WD, and 1974-1981 Trailduster 2WD”. I recommend contacting them to make sure.

Hi. You can contact Holley about their swap kit for the D100 and D150. As for the D250 or D350, they do not state their kits work those models.
