In 2010 Toyota really wanted to show off something special at SEMA. So they turned to RK Motors in Charlotte, North Carolina and along with help from Toyota Racing Development built the 2010 Toyota Camry NASCAR Edition.
The team started with a 2006 Toyota Camry Solara coupe (VIN 4T1CE38P56U639859) with a 2.4 L 2AZ-FE inline-four. Then they grafted the body from a Camry (XV40) sedan onto the Solara and welded the rear door to turn it back into a coupe.
A custom Nascar inspired body kit was developed for the Camry along with carbon fiber brake ducks, side exhaust, truck lid spoiler and custom Toyota symbol grill.
The 2.4 L 2AZ-FE inline-four was replaced with a TRD sourced 358 ci Nascar V8 that produces 680 horsepower and was also converted from carbureted to fuel injected. They engine is connected to a T-56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission with a Ram Street dual disc clutch.
The car rides on a modified MacPherson struts front suspension and a Venza-modified multi-link independent rear suspension with single-adjustable race coilovers on every corner.
The car was originally priced at $299,900 but recently went up for sale for $160,000.
