This 1947 Dodge Power Wagon 6×6 was built by Precision Power Wagons in Pennsylvania. It is based on a Dodge troop transporter and features a Power Wagon cab and custom built 8-foot bed. The original 96 horsepower flat-head inline-six has been replaced by a 3.9 L Cummins 4BT turbo diesel inline-four. The drivetrain consists of a ZF6 five-speed manual transmission and two-speed transfer case. The transfer case sends torque to three differentials all with 4.11 gears. Under normal road driving only the rear two axles are powered and the 4BT gave an impressive 25 mpg average over a 3,000 mile trip.

  1. Some time ago there was an article about another 6×6 Power Wagon which also had 4BT Cummins and was based on the troop transport, but that one was 1942 I think. If I remember correctly it was even featured on Jay Leno’s Garage. Is this one built by the same company or by different one?

      1. Thank you. So it’s different companies. Interesting. Concept is rather similar. Both are cool though. I love the looks of old Power Wagon, it just looks so cool. I’d like to own one one day.
