Greg Quirin visited The Corvette Shop in San Diego, California to talk with owner Larry Hofer about his new Corvette project. He’s already swapped big-block V8s into a C4 and C5 Corvette. Now Larry is now swapping a 8.1 L Vortec 8100 (L18) V8 into a C8 Corvette. If it is not apparent by now, Larry loves big-block V8s and has even written a book on them. Swapping the 8.1 L Vortec requires a lot of work. Larry needed to design and/or fabricate a custom dry sump system, heads, custom accessory system, custom exhaust headers, and intake manifold.
