Matthijs’ BMW E30 came from the factory with a 1.6 L M40B16 inline-four. It is now powered by a turbocharged 3.0 L M50 inline-six making 502 hp (369 kW) and 596 Nm (439 lb-ft) of torque. The motor features a 3.0 L stroker kit, Eagle forged rods, M52 head, Precision 6176 MFS turbocharger, and K64 exhaust manifold. A E36 M3 five-speed manual transmission sends power through a turbodiesel driveshaft to E34 (525i) axles.
