Bryan Holzemer enjoys driving his 1968 Chevrolet Biscayne. He purchased the car in 2013 with a 350 ci V8 and T-10 four-speed manual transmission. In 2019 Bryan embarked on a three year rebuild using the same skills he employs in QA1’s technical support department helping customers.

The 350 ci small-block V8 served Bryan well. Eventually a friend offered him a big-block and he could not refuse. The Biscayne is now powered by a 468 ci big-block Chevy V8 featuring an Edelbrock intake manifold, Holley Ultra HP 850 cfm carburetor, and Hooker Super Competition exhaust headers. The motor’s power is sent through a Centerforce clutch and Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission to a 12-bolt rear end with 4.11 gears.

Bryan improved the Biscayne’s handling using QA1 Level 2 suspension. The kit made for 1965-1968 B-body vehicles features tubular control arms, double-adjustable Pro Coil shocks, front and rear sway bars, adjustable upper trailing arms, tubular lower trailing arms, and adjustable panhard bar. Bryan also installed a set of Wilwood Dynalite brakes.

Bryan dropped weight using a Glassteck fiberglass hood. The body was painted by Bryan’s brother Jeff Holzemer. A set of Corvette rally 15×8-inch wheels completes the sleeper look. On the inside Bryan retained the factory Medium Blue-color seats and upholstery. Read more about Bryan’s car in QA1’s article.
