Shine Speedshop built this 1968 Dodge Charger in 2004 to race at El Mirage for a TV show. The car was powered by a 526 ci (8.6 L) HEMI V8 capable of 800+ hp (596 kW). Unfortunately the TV show never aired and the Charger sat until Shine Speedshop took the car back in 2020. It was missing the motor and some other parts. Shine Speedshop rebuilt the Charger with a 494 ci (8.0 L) HEMI V8 making 510 hp (380 Nm) and 566 lb-ft (767 Nm) of torque. It features a SCAT stroker crankshaft, Keith Black aluminum heads, Meziere electric water pump, two Weber four-barrel carbs, TTi headers, and custom 3.5-inch exhaust. Behind the HEMI is a TorqueFlite 727 three-speed automatic transmission and Currie 9-inch rear end with a Strange center section, 3.00 ratio, and 31-spline axles. The Charger rides on Magnum Force suspension parts, Aidan American adjustable coilovers, tubular control arms, and Wilwood disc brakes. The race focused interior features Jaz aluminum racing seats with Simpson five-point harnesses, Sweet Manufacturing steering wheel, 12-point roll cage, and fire-supression system. The Charger sold in 2023 after being listed on Bring a Trailer.

  1. Could you guys consider adding displacement and torque data in liter/nm? Like Doug DeMuro does in his videos. I am from Europe and my friends who read your website are from Asia and we all have to convert specs in L/NM to appriciate the power output of new transplant .. not a big deal to us, but I assume other readers will also appreciate that move
