Over a decade ago Ashley Sutherland at Quarry Motors transfomed a 2011 BMW 120d (E82) into a M1 clone called “Bruce”. Ashley swapped the factory 2.0 L N47 turbodiesel inline-four for a naturally aspirated 4.0 L S65 V8 from a E92 M3. Imran Arshad from Evolve Automotive test drove the car and loved it. Several years later when the car was for sale, Imran purchased it with big plans. Imran will swap the S65 V8 for a 4.4 L P65B44 V8 typically found in a BMW Z4 GT3 or BMW E92 M3 GT2 race cars. To make it work they will be converting the dry sump to wet sump, swapping the camshafts, and modifying the ECU.
